Drawing Sync Help

To start using Drawing Sync, start AutoCAD and enter Drawing Sync commands at the Command line or use the ribbon.

Start the desktop app to directly access the local repository (version history) or use advanced features.

DWP Drawing Patch

DWP files detail changes that you have made to your drawings. You can create a patch in AutoCAD or from History. To create or import a patch in AutoCAD, see Getting Started. To merge changes from a related drawing, see Merge. In a merge, drawing objects can be added, updated, or deleted. With an import, objects are added only. AutoCAD Commands

Drawing Sync commands are available in AutoCAD from the ribbon after running DSRIBBON.

Create patches and drawing exchange snapshots from your current drawing.

DXSESSION Creates a DWP drawing patch from the changes you made in the current session.
DXPATCH Creates a DWP drawing patch of changes you made since the previous version (.bak). Requires that the drawing was saved twice.
DXCOMPARE Creates a DWP drawing patch with previous values commented.
-DXPATCH Displays all options for creating a DWP drawing patch in the Command prompt. Comments in DWP files detail changes for entites and objects that are updated or deleted.
DXEDIT Creates a DSG Drawing Sync grid snapshot of drawing data in drawing exchange format (.dxf). The dash version of the command -DXEDIT allows you to select sections.
DXCUSTOM Includes custom entities and objects in the DSP drawing snapshot.

History commands

Sync your cloud files with a local repository (version history).

DSYNC Updates your local repository (version history) to sync with cloud project folders (central). The first time you click Sync Central you select a cloud project folder to track.
DSHISTORY Access the local repository (version history). From History you can view previous versions, DWG Compare, restore, create DWP drawing patches, and merge. DSMERGEAPP Selects an existing DWP file and merges the complete drawing database in the desktop app.

Import and Merge commands

DXIMPORT Add entities and tables (layer, linetype, style) from a DWP drawing patch. Common version history is not required.
DSMERGE Updates, deletes, and adds entities from a DWP drawing patch. Common version history is required for delete and update.

Desktop App commands

DSABOUT About the Drawing Sync version, projects you are tracking, and registration status.
DSSETTINGS Drawing Sync program and folder (cloud roots, local repository, history docs) settings.
DSAPP Opens the Drawing Sync desktop application.

Ribon commands

DSRIBBON Loads the Drawing Sync ribbon into the Collaboration tab.
DSRIBBONUNLOAD Removes the Drawing Sync ribbon.
